Lower Grange Community Association (LGCA) was formed in 2006 and registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in November 2014. LGCA reflects local needs and is responsible for the management of the Lower Grange Youth & Community Centre in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
The board consists of local residents with a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise of grass roots engagement in deprived communities. We are guided by our Project / Centre Manager and Ex-Officio members who support our governance, operational delivery, strategic direction and partnerships.
Service user volunteers, the local business community, CVS and statutory services are all working together to ensure the needs of the Lower Grange community are being met – LGCA acting as a catalyst for this collaboration.
Lower Grange Community Association Members
We work collaboratively with relevant partner agencies across the private, public and third sectors to ensure we provide a holistic service to our service users, which contributes to wider District objectives around community development.
We have a strong track record in delivering multi-partner funded projects too, including Foundation grants, Home Office grants, the European Social Fund and the Big Lottery. Our project management experience helps us support other initiatives, having been commissioned by the local authority to deliver community development activity within Bradford West over the last decade (including both the Clayton & Fairweather Green and Thornton & Allerton wards).
We are very well networked in the area and have a reputation for being an exemplar of best community centre practice, which has being recognised in the local press and receiving numerous awards for our service delivery and passion for commitment to community work.
